While Shallcrass Water Transport Ltd (trading as Havelock Water Taxis) will take every care and precaution possible, we accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to customers personal effects. We reserve the right to cancel or alter the services described without prior notice. Shallcrass Water Transport Ltd reserves the right to alter trip times and prices during the season.

PAYMENT

The preferred method of payment is by invoice.

A 50% deposit on multiple trip bookings is desired for confirmation.
We have pay clip available on-board Jena, we accept cash and direct debit into nominated bank account.
Service costs are not negotiable.

REFUND

We understand that travel plans vary due to illness, accident and people simply changing their minds. In turn, we ask our clients to understand that we may have turned away several keen people for those reserved places. We will have also incurred expense in processing the inquiry and booking. Finally, we have learned to respect the sea and New Zealand weather, and not to take unnecessary risks. Safety is our top priority.

If Shallcrass Water Transport Ltd (trading as Havelock Water Taxis) cancels a service due to bad weather, we will refund in full any deposit prepaid.
If a customer cancels 12 hours or less before departure or fails to cancel at all (no show) you will be charged in full the quoted price for the bookings made.
If a customer cancels 72 hours or more before departure a full refund of their deposit will be given if a deposit has been paid.

Important - Bulk Bookings and Group Bookings

Due to numerous trips needed for large bookings we will require 2 weeks’ notice of any cancellations. If the customer cancels under 14 days’ notice on bulk/group bookings no refund of deposit will be given.

TRIP DEPARTURES

Please make sure that you arrive 15 minutes before scheduled departure to allow luggage and loading to occur in a timely and stress-free manner. We understand that anything can happen on the way to the marina so if you are not going to make the booked time, please let us know as soon as possible. If you don’t contact us and don’t arrive as planned you may find yourself left behind, as others may be booked to travel at the same time. If it is possible to wait you may be charged a waiting fee (up to the discretion of the skipper).

LUGGAGE

As our comfortable vessel is a Water Taxi and not a Barge, there may a charge for excessive baggage. Please base your luggage limits on 20kg per passenger. If you are planning on taking anything large or out of the ordinary, please mention this while making your booking, so you are not disappointed on the day.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We advise all clients to consider arranging appropriate travel insurance that covers Adventure Tourism. Under all circumstances, the client is solely responsible for their personal equipment.

DAMAGE CONTROL

If it is determined that a customer has caused damage to our vessel or equipment due to negligent or irresponsible behaviour. All costs associated with fixing said damage will be passed onto the customer.

We reserve the right to forward onto debt collection agencies any payment not yet received for transportation after 3 months at the customer’s expense.
We are happy for the drinks to flow but draw the line at excessive alcohol or any illegal drug consumption. You will be removed from the vessel immediately.
Please do not turn up intoxicated as this is a major safety issue and could be refused entry to the vessel.
Children must be always under parental supervision, always!
Pets are part of the family, and we welcome them with open arms. But please be aware that they must be always restrained and under your care.
